Our business is located in Khandwa, specifically in Ashok Nagar at the home of Mohanlal Narmada Prasad. We aren't doing the usual grain farming that most people around here focus on. Instead, we are all about bamboo. Mks Khandwa Bamboo Craft Producercompany Limited was started because we saw how much potential there is in bamboo and we wanted to organize the local craftspeople. It’s a bit of a niche thing, but it’s what we know and what we are good at. Working with bamboo requires a lot of patience and a steady hand. We spend our days looking at stalks, figuring out what can be made, and trying to help our members get their crafts to people who want them. It isn't a glamorous job. There is a lot of dust and hard manual labor involved. We don't have a shiny showroom or anything like that; it’s mostly just a group of people working hard in the Khandwa heat. We take pride in the fact that we are using local materials to make things that last. We aren't interested in fancy marketing or sounding like a big city company. We just want to make sure the bamboo workers in our area have a way to make a decent living and keep their traditions going for a bit longer. It's a way for us to stick together and stay busy with something meaningful.
