We spend most of our mornings pretty early around here in Billod. By the time the sun is starting to show, most of us are already out with the cows. Baldi Farmers Milk Producer Company Limited came about because we were tired of just taking whatever price was offered at the big collection points. We figured we could do it better if we worked together. Ramcharan Brijlal’s place in the village is our main point for getting things sorted. Being out here in Tehsil Harsud, we know the land and we know our animals well. It’s not an easy life, especially when the weather doesn't go our way or the feed costs go up, but we manage. We aren't some big city business with a lot of fancy talk. We are just people who milk cows and want to get a fair deal for our hard work. The families in Khandwa have been doing this for a long time, and this company is just our way of looking out for one another. Sometimes we meet up and it’s just a lot of talking about the animals and what’s happening in the village. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just collect the milk and make sure it gets where it needs to go. It’s simple, honest work, and having this group makes us feel a little more secure about the future.
