Isro

Working at the Isro Satellite Centre on Airport Road is a bit different from a normal shop. Our specific group is the Control Systems Group. We are based right here in the main campus area. It is a large place with a lot of security, but inside, it is just a lot of desks and technical equipment. Most of our days are spent looking at monitors and checking data. It is very quiet work for the most part. The Control Systems Group has a lot of responsibility, so we try to stay focused on what is in front of us. We walk along the hallways of the Satellite Centre every day, and you get used to the routine of the place. The campus on Airport Road has a lot of trees and it is actually quite nice to walk around during the lunch hour. We don't really deal with the public directly like a store would. Our work is more about the internal projects and making sure the systems are behaving. We use a lot of specialized tools that you wouldn't find in a regular office. Even though the work is very technical, we are still just a group of people working together in an office building. We have our tea breaks and talk about normal things like the weather or the commute. It is a unique place to be, but at the end of the day, it's our workplace and we just do what is required of us.
