We spend most of our time at the office in Satyam Plaza, which is right in Pkt B E of Dilshad Garden. It is a busy spot in Shahdara. Usually, the day starts with checking the phone for messages from the site workers. We have been here in East Delhi for a while now. Some days the traffic near the plaza is just too much. Most of our work involves managing contracts and making sure the labor shows up on time. It is not always easy. We keep a lot of files in the S-6 room. Sometimes the printer jams when we are trying to get the schedules out. Dealing with the heat in Delhi makes the outdoor work tough during the summer months. We try to get most things sorted before the afternoon sun hits. Our neighbors in the building are mostly other small businesses. We share tea sometimes. It is just a regular setup where we try to handle the projects that come our way. People from the neighborhood know where to find us if they have questions about their house repairs or building stuff. The office isn't very big, but it fits the desks and the storage we need. We don't have fancy furniture or anything like that. It's just a practical space for us to meet and talk about the jobs. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit and wait or go for a walk outside Satyam Plaza until it comes back to finish the day's tasks.
