Madni Properties

You will find our small office at A-35 in Dharampura, right near Thokar No-6 in the Shaheen Bagh area. It’s a very busy part of town, and we are right in the thick of it. Madni Properties is basically just a place where we help neighbors find a place to stay or a shop to rent. We spend most of our time walking through the narrow lanes nearby or talking on our mobile phones. The office itself is very simple. We just have a couple of desks and some chairs for people to sit on while we talk. There are maps of the different blocks pinned to the walls so we can show people where the houses are. In the summer, it gets quite hot, so we always have the ceiling fans going full speed. We don't have a formal way of doing things. Usually, someone just walks in, we offer them a cup of tea, and we see what they are looking for. We know almost everyone in this part of Shaheen Bagh, which makes the work a bit easier. Sometimes things get a bit messy with all the keys and the different pieces of paper we keep track of, but we always manage to find what we need. It’s a local business run by local people. We don’t try to act like a big corporation. We just try to be helpful to the people in our community.
