Ganesha Art Gallery

Ganesha Art Gallery is over at Plot No. 360, Block No. 4 in the Functional Industrial Estate in Patparganj. It’s a big name for a place that basically looks like a large warehouse from the outside. Being in an industrial estate means we have a lot of space, which is good because some of the pieces we have are pretty bulky. We don’t have fancy carpets or spotlights like the galleries you see in the city center. Here, it’s more about the actual work. We have large tables for laying things out and heavy-duty shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. The air smells a bit like paint and old wood most of the time. Patparganj can be a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to the block numbers, but we’ve been at Plot 360 long enough that the local delivery drivers know us. We spend a lot of time moving things around to make room for new arrivals. It can be heavy work, and our clothes usually end up with a few stains by the end of the shift. We don’t put on airs here. If someone comes by, they’ll probably see us in our work clothes, maybe holding a hammer or a roll of bubble wrap. It’s a functional space for people who care more about the art than the presentation of the building.
