You will find Ganesh Dey Florist right opposite the Rosewood Apartment in the Samachar Market area of Mayur Vihar. It is a busy little place. The market always has people walking around, especially in the evenings. We have a small shop that we’ve been running for quite some time. It isn't a big showroom with glass windows and lights. It is just a regular shop where we keep our buckets of flowers. We get our supply early in the morning. Most of the people who come to us live in the apartments nearby. They know us and we know them. Sometimes we just chat about the weather while I trim the stems for their bouquets. We have a few different types of flowers, whatever is in season and looks okay. The shop can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock in. There is always a bit of a mess with cut leaves and bits of string on the floor. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just open up, put the flowers out, and wait for customers. It is a simple way of doing things. The traffic in Mayur Vihar can be a bit much, but we are used to the noise by now. We just try to keep the flowers fresh as long as possible. It is a lot of standing around and waiting, but that is the business.
