If you're looking for Feathers Art, you have to head toward Munerka. We are tucked away near Baba Bakery. You can usually smell the bread and cookies baking from our front door. It’s a great smell to work to, though it makes us hungry by ten in the morning. Our shop is full of supplies. We have brushes, paints, and canvases stacked everywhere. It’s hard to walk through without bumping into a tripod or a bucket of water. We started this place because we just liked making things. It’s not a fancy gallery with white walls and bright lights. It’s more of a workshop. The floor has paint stains on it that we stopped trying to scrub off years ago. People come in from the neighborhood to look around or pick up some supplies for their kids. Munerka is a crowded place, and our shop fits right in. It’s narrow and a bit dark, but we have some good lamps. We don’t really have a set schedule. We open when we get here and close when the work is done. Sometimes we stay late if a project is going well. The bakery next door usually closes before we do. We like the quiet of the evening when the street noise dies down. It’s just a simple art space where people can be creative without any pressure or fuss. We like the mess.
