Ashok Art Gallery

We are located at I-24(A) near Subhash Chowk in Laxmi Nagar. It’s a busy area, lots of noise from the street, but we’ve grown to like it. Ashok Art Gallery isn't some quiet, sterile museum. It’s more of a working space where we keep a lot of different pieces. The walls are pretty much covered from top to bottom. People walk by all day, and sometimes they pop their heads in to see what we have. We aren't really formal about things. If the door is open, we're working. Most of our time is spent talking to the artists or trying to find space for new arrivals. Laxmi Nagar is a bit crowded, so getting things delivered to the door can be a challenge during peak hours. We’ve had to get used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. The lighting isn't always perfect, but we do our best with what we have. It’s just a few of us here. We don't have big meetings or anything like that; we just decide what needs to be done over a cup of tea. It’s a simple setup. We deal with art because it’s what we know. There isn't much more to it than that. We just keep things moving and try to keep the place organized, even if it’s a bit messy sometimes. It's a lot of work to keep track of everything, but it's what we do for a living.
