We started Samnapur Progressive Farmer Producer Company Limited right here in Dindori because things were getting hard for small farmers to handle on their own. Our office is over at Krishn Kumar’s place in Manikpur Chandrani Ryt. It isn't a fancy office with big desks or anything like that. It is just a spot where we can sit down and figure out what to do with our crops. Being out here in this part of Madhya Pradesh means we deal with a lot of different weather, and sometimes the market prices just don't make sense when you're working a small patch of land alone. A few of us talked it over and decided it was better to combine what we have. We aren't trying to be some big corporation. We are just local people who know the soil here and want to make sure our families can keep going. Most days you'll find someone around the village talking about the next harvest or how the rain is looking this year. It's a simple setup. We don't have a lot of paperwork or big speeches. If a neighbor needs help with their seeds or figuring out where to sell their stuff, we try to get it sorted together. Dindori is a quiet place and we like it that way, just working the land and helping each other out when the season gets busy. That is basically the whole story of how we ended up forming this group.
