If you walk down Ktc School Road in KVR Nagar, you will find us at number 23. It’s a lively spot, especially when the morning bell is about to ring. People are always rushing past on their way to other parts of town, but inside our gates, things settle down a bit once classes start. The school has been part of this neighborhood for years, so most of the shopkeepers nearby know us by name. Our building has several floors, and the stairs are usually full of students moving between labs and classrooms. We have a lot of benches that have been repaired a few times over the seasons. The chalkboards still get a lot of use even though some people use whiteboards now. We like the old way of doing things mostly. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the building pretty hard, so we keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. There is a small area where the staff sits and has tea during the break, usually talking about the weather or local news. It’s a practical place to be. We don’t have those big manicured lawns you see in magazines, just a paved area where we hold the morning assembly. It gets the job done for the families living around KVR Nagar. Sometimes the gate squeaks when it’s windy, and we keep meaning to oil it, but life gets busy.
