Unique Ispat Pvt. Ltd. is located over at B-9 in Focal Point. If you spend any time in this part of town, you know it’s all about industry and getting things built. Our yard is usually full of steel piles and the sound of heavy lifting. It’s a gritty environment, but that’s just how it is when you’re working with metal. We show up, drink some chai, and then start the heavy work of sorting through the inventory. The floors are concrete and they’ve seen a lot of use over the years. We aren’t the type to wear suits or sit in fancy offices. Most of us are in boots and old shirts, just doing the jobs that need doing. Sometimes the trucks get backed up at the entrance, and we have to shuffle things around to make space. It’s a bit of a puzzle every morning. We know the other guys working in Focal Point and we help each other out if someone needs a hand moving something heavy. The sun hits the metal roofs in the afternoon and it gets quite warm, so we take our breaks in the shade when we can. We just focus on the steel. There isn’t much more to it than that. We’ve got the regular routine down and we just keep the wheels turning day after day. It is loud and dusty, but it’s our way of making a living.
