Prem Khalsa Iron & Steel Rolling Mills is based out in Guru Ki Nagri, which is part of Mandi Govindgarh. This town is famous for iron, so we’re right where we need to be. Running a rolling mill is a lot of work and it’s loud, but it’s what we know. We’ve been at this for a while now, handling the raw metal and processing it. It’s a tough environment, lots of heat and heavy machinery. We don’t really have a front office with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just the mill and the yard. Most of the people we deal with are in the same trade, so they understand how it goes. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to keep the mill running smoothly every day. It’s a family-run kind of feel here, even if it’s industrial. We wake up, get the machines started, and see what the orders for the day look like. Mandi Govindgarh is a busy hub, and being in Guru Ki Nagri puts us in the thick of it. There’s always trucks coming and going. We don’t spend time on fancy descriptions of what we do. We just roll the steel and make sure it meets the basic requirements for the buyers. It’s honest, hard work. Some days things break down and we fix them. That’s just life in the iron business and we're used to it by now. It’s a simple way to earn a living.
