Indian Public School

If you are driving down G T Road in Dhanbad, you will find us near Panchrukhi in the Kharni area. Indian Public School has been standing here for a good long time. It is a bit noisy because of the trucks passing by on the main road, but we have gotten used to it over the years. The school is a basic concrete building with a few floors. We have got a small yard where the students gather for their morning prayers. Inside, the hallways are narrow and filled with the sound of kids talking between periods. We keep things very simple here. There are no high-tech gadgets in every corner, just the usual benches, chairs, and charts on the walls. Most of our teachers have been with us for a long time and they live in the nearby colonies. We handle the paperwork in a small office near the entrance where it is always a bit cluttered with registers and files. Life at the school follows the seasons. When it is winter, the mornings are cold and everyone wears their heavy sweaters. In the monsoon, the roof leaks a little in the old wing, so we just move the desks around. It is just a practical place for kids to come and spend their day while their parents are at work. We just do our best to keep the place running smoothly every day.
