The Book Company

Our office is tucked away on Ansari Road in Darya Ganj. If you know this part of Delhi, you know it’s basically the heart of the book trade. We are at 4378/4B, which is an older building with a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit steep if you’re carrying a heavy load. The Book Company isn't really a flashy place. We spend a lot of our day surrounded by cardboard boxes and packing tape. Darya Ganj has a certain energy, especially on Sundays, but we are here through the week working on orders and talking to suppliers. The walls are lined with all sorts of publications. Sometimes it feels like we are living in a library that never ends. We don’t have a big marketing team or a polished reception desk. Usually, you’ll find us sitting at the back desks with a cup of tea, going through invoices or checking stock levels. It gets quite dusty with all the paper around, but that’s just how it goes in this industry. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, yet the demand for a good physical book never seems to go away. We just focus on getting the right titles to the right people without making too much of a fuss about it. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it long enough to know the ins and outs of Ansari Road.
