Rama Krishna Books

For anyone looking for Rama Krishna Books, we are at Shop No. 2602 on Nai Sarak. We are located in the heart of Chawri Bazar, very close to the Badshaw Bulla Chowk. If you have ever been to Nai Sarak, you know it is famous for its books, and we are just one small part of that long tradition. The shop is narrow and the ceiling is high, which is good because we have books stacked almost to the top. It’s a bit of a maze inside. We have been here for years, and the walls have that old building smell that comes with being in such a historic part of the city. There isn't a lot of space for people to sit, so most folks just stand in the doorway or lean against the counter while they look for what they need. Outside, the street is always full of rickshaws and people carrying heavy loads. It is a noisy, busy place to work, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We don't have a computer system to tell us where everything is; we just rely on our memory. Sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific title, but we usually get there. We are just a simple bookshop doing our thing in a very crowded, very lively neighborhood. It’s nothing fancy, just a lot of paper and hard work. We stay open until late in the evening.
