Bahri Brothers

Located at Plot No 742 in the Lajpat Rai Market, we’ve got a pretty good view of what’s going on across the way at the Red Fort. This area is always moving, and our shop is right in the middle of all that noise and history. We’ve been using P.O. Box 2032 for our mail for a long time now. Bahri Brothers isn’t the kind of place that’s trying to be modern or trendy. We have wooden shelves that have been here for decades and they are filled with everything from law books to general interest stuff. The market gets very crowded, especially in the afternoons, so our shop often becomes a little escape for people who want to browse in peace. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know where the various sections are. Sometimes we forget to turn the sign around, but usually, we are open and ready to help. Being opposite the Red Fort means we see a lot of tourists, but most of our regulars are locals who have been coming to us for years. We don't do much in the way of fancy displays. We just put the books out and let people find what they want. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us and our customers. There’s always a bit of tea brewing in the back if the day is slow.
