Amit Book Shop

You can find Amit Book Shop at Plot No. 2548/49 in Balaji Market. We are located right on Nai Sarak, which everyone knows is the place to go if you are looking for anything printed. Being near Geeta Press means there is always a lot of foot traffic passing by our front door. The shop is usually filled with the smell of old paper and fresh ink. We have piles of books that sometimes reach all the way to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside, to be honest. We spend a lot of our time unpacking crates and trying to find space for new stock that arrives every week. The market is always loud and busy, with rickshaws and people moving back and forth all day long. We don't have a lot of room for sitting down, so we are usually standing behind the counter or climbing ladders to reach the top shelves. It’s a family-run kind of place and we have been here through many seasons. Some of the regulars have been coming to us since they were in school. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still done with pen and paper in our ledgers. It’s just how we have always operated. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy with the books to worry about that right now.
