A One Books

We are right in the thick of things on Nai Sarak. Our shop, A One Books, is at No. 1680/18 on the ground floor, directly opposite the HDFC Bank. If you’ve ever been to Nai Sarak, you know how crowded and loud it can get. There are rickshaws, porters carrying huge stacks of books, and people everywhere. Our shop is no different. It’s packed with books from front to back. Being on the ground floor is a blessing because we don't have to lug heavy boxes up any stairs. My back wouldn't handle that anymore. We’ve been here for many years, and we’ve seen shops come and go. We just keep doing our thing. The shop isn't fancy at all. The paint is peeling in a few spots and the floor is worn down from all the people walking in and out. We don’t have air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that hum all day. It’s a lot of work to keep track of everything we have. Sometimes someone asks for a book and it takes us ten minutes of searching through piles to find it. But we usually do find it. We don't have any corporate polish or marketing slogans. We’re just book traders. We start early in the morning before the crowd gets too thick and we stay until late. It’s a tiring job, but it’s what we know. We just focus on serving the customers who find their way to our door. It is just honest work.
