Shri Ram Building Material is over here at Office No. 1A in Village Singhola. If you are driving down Gt Karnal Road, you will probably see us. We are pretty close to the Kotak Mahindra Bank, which is a good landmark if you get lost or are looking for the turn. I am here most days, just managing the yard and making sure the supplies like cement and bricks are stacked right and ready to go. It is a busy spot because the road is a main one and there is always traffic. The weather gets hot out here and the dust from the sand piles goes everywhere. It is just part of the job I guess. We see a lot of local builders and people just trying to fix up their own houses. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three trucks show up at once and there is only so much room in the front for everyone to park. We just try to get everyone loaded and back on the road as fast as we can. It’s not a fancy office, just a practical place for people who need stuff to build with. I have lived around this area for a long time. Singhola has changed quite a bit but the work stays the same. You wake up, open the gate, and start counting the bags. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy. If you’re passing the bank and need a few things, you can just pull in. We don’t have any big signs or anything, just the piles of material and the sound of the highway.
