Sikka Traders

If you know Gandhi Nagar, you know how hectic it gets. Sikka Traders is right at the end of Janta Gali on Lalbatti Road. The address is A/6695, and it’s right in the middle of all the garment action on Gandhi Nagar Main Road. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with boxes and bags. There’s barely enough room to walk sometimes. We are mostly moving goods in and out all day. You hear the sounds of carts rattling on the pavement and people shouting orders outside. It’s dusty and loud, but that’s just Gandhi Nagar. We don’t have a fancy display. It’s more of a warehouse feel where we keep track of the stock. We use a lot of packing tape and markers. Our hands are usually dirty from handling the cardboard. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, right where the road ends. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit when it's on high, but it keeps the air moving. We eat our lunch sitting on the crates because there aren't many chairs. It’s a busy life. We deal with lots of different people coming in to pick up bundles. The traffic on the main road can be a nightmare in the evenings. We just stay focused on the orders and making sure the counts are right. It’s a gritty, hardworking environment and we are used to it by now. The tea here is always strong.
