Shiv Traders

Our shop is at E-395 in Daljeet Nagar, down Gali Number 5 in New Usmanpur. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if you aren't from the area. Shiv Traders is just a small place where we buy and sell things. There’s always stuff piled up near the entrance. We try to keep it organized but it doesn't always stay that way for long. The street is narrow, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze when the delivery rickshaws come by. We’ve lived and worked in this part of Delhi for most of our lives. It’s a loud place with kids playing in the street and neighbors talking over the walls. We open up early and stay open until the sun goes down. There’s no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that makes a bit of a clicking sound. We don't do any big advertising. Word of mouth seems to work okay for us. People know us as the place down the alley. We keep a ledger for the accounts and write everything down by hand. It’s easier that way. Sometimes we share a meal in the back of the shop when it’s quiet. We don't have any big plans to expand or move. This spot in Daljeet Nagar is where we belong. It’s honest work and it keeps us connected to the neighborhood. There is always someone walking by to say hello to us while we work. The tea is good here.
