Satyam Cineplexes Ltd

Our cinema is right in Patel Nagar, which is a neighborhood where everyone seems to know everyone. Satyam Cineplexes has been a part of the daily landscape here for a while. The lobby isn't huge, so when a big movie comes out, it gets very crowded very fast. We spend a lot of time sweeping up popcorn from the carpets and checking the seats for left-behind phones or bags. The projectors have their own personality and sometimes they need a bit of a kick to get going properly. We don’t have a big corporate headquarters here; it’s just the ticket counters, the snack bar, and the theaters themselves. The staff is mostly local guys who live nearby. We rotate shifts so someone is always here from the first morning show until the last one finishes late at night. The air conditioning is always running at full blast, which is a relief from the heat outside on the Patel Nagar streets. Sometimes the elevators get stuck or the soda machine leaks, and we just deal with it as it happens. We don't have a mission statement or anything fancy like that. We just want to make sure the movie starts on time and the sound is loud enough. It’s a straightforward job in a busy part of the city, and we’ve gotten pretty used to the rhythm of it.
