Our office is at D-137 in New Ashok Nagar. If you know the area, you know it’s a busy spot near the Noida border. Onyxe Architect Pvt. Ltd. has been running out of this building for a bit now. It is a standard Delhi setup where the space is used for everything from drawing boards to keeping old files that we probably should have thrown out years ago. The stairs are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful coming up. We spend most of the morning just sorting through site notes and trying to figure out why a certain measurement doesn't match the actual ground reality. It happens more often than you would think. The chai wallah downstairs knows our order by now. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just draw buildings and try to make sure the stairs aren't too steep for people to climb. The computers get a bit loud when they have been running all day, but they work fine. Sometimes the power goes out for a few minutes and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. New Ashok Nagar is always moving, so there is always something happening outside the window. It’s just a regular place where people come to get their house plans sorted without too much fuss. We try to keep things simple and practical every day.
