M D Sethi & Sons is tucked away in Gali Lallu Misar at 3513-A in Sadar Bazar. If you know the area, you know how tight these lanes are. You can barely fit a cart through some parts. Our family has been in this spot for generations. The building is old, with high ceilings and walls that have seen a lot of history. We deal in wholesale mostly, so the place is always packed with big bundles and sacks. It is not a place for browsing. It is a place for work. There is always a lot of shouting and noise from the porters moving goods outside. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day to keep going. The light isn't great inside the shop, but we know where every single item is kept. Sometimes the dust from the street gets in and covers everything. We don't use computers much, just the old account books that we fill out by hand. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, but it works for us. We don't have a sign outside that flashes or anything. Most of our customers have been buying from us for thirty years. They know the way.
