Gil,Cement Div.(Aditya Birla Group)

We are part of the Gil, Cement Div. which belongs to the Aditya Birla Group, but our local office is at 4/801, Zubaibalodge in Sir Syed Nagar, Aligarh. Being located in a lodge like this gives the office a bit of a different feel than a standard commercial building. It is in the Civil Line area, so it is a bit more organized than other parts of the city, but it still has that local U.P. character. There is always a layer of fine dust around, which I suppose comes with being in the cement business. We spend our days tracking shipments and talking to dealers. The rooms are high-ceilinged and keep fairly cool even when it is scorching outside. We have a small team here and we’ve worked together for a long time, so we are more like a group of friends than just coworkers. There is always a pot of tea on the go somewhere. We don't really do the whole corporate suit-and-tie thing unless someone important is visiting from the main office. Usually, it is just us in our regular clothes, dealing with the daily grind of logistics and paperwork. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which is nice for getting things done. We just keep the operation running smoothly from this little corner of Aligarh. It is a simple, no-nonsense way to spend the work week.
