Our office is actually inside Vijya Lakshmi Apartment, specifically Flat A-6. It’s located in the I.P. Extension area of Patparganj in New Delhi. Working out of an apartment makes the place feel a bit more relaxed than a standard office building. We have our desks set up in the main rooms, and there's usually a pot of tea going somewhere. We’ve been here for a while, focusing on various architectural projects. It’s a good spot because it’s close to a lot of our sites in East Delhi. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and discussing how to fix design issues that pop up. The name of the company is Desugnplus, and we’ve kept it simple since we started. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that. Most of our clients come to us because they know someone we’ve worked with before. It’s a small operation, just a few of us who really know our way around a set of blueprints. We deal with all the local regulations and the paperwork that comes with building in Delhi, which is a job in itself. Our days are never quite the same. One day we’re stuck doing drawings, and the next we’re out in the heat looking at a foundation. It’s honest work, and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We just enjoy the challenge of making a space work for people.
