Out here in Tikri Khurd Village, things move a bit differently than in the city. Our place is right in the heart of the village area, and we handle a lot of the building materials that people around here need for their homes. Besides the sand and bricks, we also deal with properties, which keeps us on our toes quite a bit. You might see a stack of bricks one day and then a group of guys talking about land plots the next. It’s a bit of a mix. The yard gets messy, especially when it rains and the ground turns to mud, but that’s part of the work. I spend a lot of time on the phone or just standing out by the gate talking to the truck drivers who bring in the supplies. We don’t have any big flashy showroom or anything. It’s mostly just a desk, some chairs, and whatever materials are currently in stock sitting out in the open. It’s hard work, mostly lifting and counting, but it’s what we know. My brother usually handles the property side of things while I look after the materials. It works out okay for us.
