We have been sitting here at B/3-16 on Ansari Road for quite some time now. Darya Ganj is a busy place, as anyone who comes here knows, and being so close to The Times Of India building means there is always something going on outside our door. It’s a lot of paper and ink inside these walls. Amit Book Company Pvt. Ltd. isn't a fancy place with modern furniture or anything like that. We mostly just have rows and rows of books stacked up. Sometimes the stacks get a bit high and it’s a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. People come in looking for all sorts of things, and usually, if it’s printed, we have a copy of it tucked away somewhere. The traffic on Ansari Road can be a real headache in the afternoons, especially when the delivery trucks are trying to get through. We just keep doing what we do every day. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and checking lists. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just run our book business here in the heart of the old printing district. If you find yourself walking past the big newspaper office, you’ll probably see our sign. It’s a bit worn out now, but it still gets the job done. We spend most of our time sorting through new arrivals or helping someone find a specific title. It’s just a normal shop.
