We’ve been operating out of Ramesh Nagar at 6 B/14 for a long time. It’s a hardware and building material yard. We have piles of sand, bricks, and bags of cement everywhere. It’s a dusty job, but someone has to do it. The trucks come and go all morning. We help the local contractors and people doing up their own houses. It’s not a clean environment, but it’s honest work. We know the weight of a bag of cement better than anything else. Ramesh Nagar is a busy area, so getting the trucks in and out can be a headache. We don't have a fancy office. Just a small desk where we keep the records and the phone. We don't do fancy marketing. People know where we are. We've seen a lot of houses go up in this neighborhood over the years. Some days it rains and we have to cover everything up fast. Other days the sun is beating down on the yard. We just keep going. It’s a family-run kind of thing, very informal. We talk to the drivers and the laborers all day. It’s just life at the yard. There's always some heavy lifting to be done. We don't mind getting our hands dirty. That's the nature of the business. We keep the inventory moving in our own quiet way. It’s been our life for years now. We wouldn't know what else to do with our time. It fits us just fine.
