We are set up on the Main Road in Singrare, which is not too far from the city of Dehradun. The air is a bit fresher out here than in the middle of the city, which makes the work day a little easier to get through. Our building is a simple structure where we do our manufacturing and assembly work. Every morning the staff arrives and we start the machines up together. It is a routine that has not changed much over the years we have been here. We make parts that go into other bigger machines, so you might not see our name on the final product, but we know we made it. There is a small break area where we sit and eat lunch together every day. Sometimes the trucks coming in for pickups get stuck in the mud if it has been raining hard, which can be a real headache for everyone. We are not a high-tech lab or anything like that, just a factory floor with regular people working hard. We use a lot of local guys from the nearby villages because it is good to have a steady job close to home. The office part of the building is just a couple of desks and some filing cabinets that have seen better days. We do not put on any airs about being a major player; we just focus on the daily output and making sure the boxes are packed up for shipping. It is a straightforward way to earn a living out here.
