Spicy Champaran Handi Private Limited

Spicy Champaran Handi Private Limited is on the first floor of JK7 at Kaliyar Road in Haridwar. We are quite close to the Shiv Mandir, which makes it easy for people to find us. Our kitchen is where we cook food in clay pots, which is what the Handi in our name is all about. It’s a very traditional way of doing things and it takes a lot of time. You can’t rush this kind of cooking. The smell of wood smoke and spices fills the whole floor. It gets pretty crowded in the kitchen during the lunch and dinner rush. We are just a small team of cooks and helpers. We don't have a big menu. We just stick to what we know how to make in those pots. The clay pots sometimes crack and we have to get new ones from the local market. It is a simple life here in Haridwar. We see a lot of people passing by on their way to the temple. Our place isn't very fancy. We have basic tables and chairs and we focus more on the pots than the decor. Sometimes we run out of ingredients and have to close early, but that's just how a small kitchen goes. We like being part of the Kaliyar Road community. It feels like home to us and we have been here long enough now.
