Royal Day Mughlai Food Restaurant

Royal Day Mughlai Food Restaurant is tucked away on Ballupur Road in Dehradun. We are on the second floor of the 2/II Nd building, which is right near the Bata Showroom. It’s a good landmark for people trying to find us. Mughlai food is what we know best, so that’s what we stick to. It’s a lot of slow cooking and heavy pots. The kitchen gets pretty warm in the evenings when all the burners are going. We’ve been in Ballupur for a while now. It’s a decent neighborhood, and we know most of the other shop owners nearby. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just us. My wife helps with the accounts and I handle the kitchen and the staff. Sometimes we have a bit of trouble with the delivery bikes blocking the entrance, but we try to keep it clear. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, so we tell people to take their time. We use the same recipes we’ve had for years. Nothing too complicated, just standard spices and fresh meat from the market. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a place to get a meal without any fuss. Some nights are quiet and we just sit and talk, other nights we are rushing until closing time.
