Mountain Footprint & Water Sport

If you go up towards New Tehri, you will find Mountain Footprint & Water Sport in the Baurari area. Specifically, we are at 9 E/572. It’s a bit of a drive from the main part of Rishikesh, but it’s where the water sports really happen because of the big dam and the lake. The air is a bit cooler up here than down in the valley. We spend our days dealing with gear for water activities and talking to people who want to get out on the lake. It’s a very practical kind of place. You’ll see life jackets and paddles around, and usually someone is outside checking the equipment. Baurari is a quiet neighborhood, mostly people who work around the Tehri area. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a place to store things and talk to visitors. We don't do much in the way of fancy talk. If the weather is good, the lake is nice, and that is what we tell people. Sometimes the wind picks up and we have to tell everyone to wait. That is just how it goes when you work with nature. We’ve been around this area for a while and we know the water pretty well. It’s a simple life, focused on the outdoors and making sure the gear is ready for the next group. We enjoy the mountain air and the slower pace of life up here in New Tehri.
