Our branch of Hcl Technologies is situated in Dehradun, up in Uttaranchal. It’s a bit different working here than it is in the massive offices you see in the bigger cities. The air is a little fresher, and the views of the hills are nice when you get a second to look out the window. We’re in a quiet spot where we can actually focus on what we’re doing. The office is set up with all the usual computers and cables you’d expect, but it feels a bit more relaxed. We have people from all over the local area working here. Some of us have been with the company for years, while others are just starting out. We don’t go for the high-pressure corporate vibe. We just try to solve the problems that come across our desks and keep the systems running smoothly. Lunch breaks usually involve a walk outside or just sitting around talking about our weekend plans. We aren't making any grand claims about changing the world; we’re just a team of workers doing our bit. The building is simple and serves its purpose well. Most of us are just glad to be working in Dehradun instead of being stuck in the middle of a crowded metro. It’s a practical place for practical people. We come in, we do the hours, and we make sure the quality of the work is solid. That’s really all there is to it.
