Avantika Travels & Bike Rentals

Our shop, Avantika Travels & Bike Rentals, is right on Laxman Jhula Road. It is a pretty noisy street most of the time because of all the tourists and pilgrims walking to the bridge. We are directly across from the Andhra Ashram, which is a big landmark people use to find us. If you see the Hemkunt Gurudwara, you know you are very close because it’s just a short walk from there. We have bikes parked out front most of the day, at least the ones that aren't currently being used by someone. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big waiting room or fancy furniture. Usually, someone is just sitting on a plastic chair near the entrance waiting for the next person to stop by. We spend a lot of time cleaning the bikes and checking the tires because the roads around here can be quite rough on them. Sometimes people come in just to ask for directions to the river or where to get good food. We tell them what we know. It gets really busy during the peak season, and sometimes it's hard to hear each other over the horns and the bells from the temples nearby. But we like being in this part of Rishikesh. It feels like the heart of everything happening on this side of the water. We just keep things moving and try to stay organized among the chaos of the street. It's just a part of life here for us and the bikes.
