Bright Academy

Bright Academy is right in the middle of the Bazar area on Agrasen Road in Siliguri. It’s a very busy spot with a lot of energy. There are shops and people and cars everywhere outside our doors. Inside, we try to keep things a bit more orderly for the students. The building isn't very new, but we keep it functional and clean as best we can. We have several floors, so there’s a lot of climbing stairs for the teachers and the older kids. The sound of the market comes in through the windows, but the kids are used to it and don't seem to notice anymore. We have a small staff room where we keep all our supplies, books, and mark the papers in the afternoons. Space is a bit tight because we are in the heart of the town, but we make it work for everyone. We have kids of all ages coming in from the nearby streets. Their parents are often working in the shops just a few doors down. We focus on the basics like reading, writing, and math. It’s a lot of repetition and daily practice. We don’t have a big playground, so the kids mostly stay indoors or in the small yard area we have. On market days, the traffic on Agrasen Road is something else, so we have to be very careful when the kids are leaving for home. It’s a lively place to be. We just do our bit to help the local families. It’s not a polished school, it’s just a place in the bazaar.
