Little Flower Nursery & Primary School

Little Flower Nursery & Primary School is tucked away in Aasiriyar Nagar, over in Athiyur. If you’re coming through Villupuram, you might miss the turn if you aren't specifically looking for it. It’s not a huge campus or anything, just a basic building where we have classes for the younger kids. We’ve got some swings in the back that squeak a little when it’s windy, and the fence needs a bit of fixing in the corner. The mornings are usually the loudest time here because of the parents dropping off their little ones and all the crying or laughing that goes on at the gate. We spend a lot of time cleaning up crayon marks off the walls. The classrooms have big windows to let in the air since it gets quite hot in this part of Tamil Nadu. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just ceiling fans that hum all day long. Most of the teachers live nearby and walk through the neighborhood to get here every morning. We usually have our lunch together in the small staff room. There’s always a lot of chatter about what the kids did that day. The primary school section is a bit quieter but still stays pretty busy. We keep our registers in old wooden cupboards that have that specific old paper smell. It’s a local place for local families. Nothing more to it than that, really. We just show up and do the work every day without much fuss.
