Bharath Nursery And Primary School is right here in Elavansurkottai. We've been in this part of Villupuram for a good while now. It’s a simple place, really. The gate gets a bit stuck in the rainy season, but we manage. Most of the kids come from nearby houses, walking or on their cycles. We have the little ones in the nursery who make a lot of noise in the mornings, and the primary kids are in the other rooms. The classrooms aren't very fancy, but they stay cool enough with the fans. We try to keep the blackboards clean and make sure everyone has a desk that doesn't wobble. Some of the teachers have been with us since the start. They know all the parents by name. Sometimes we have to remind the kids not to run too fast in the hallways because they might trip. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the paperwork and the government rules, but that's just how it is. We have a small yard where they play during the break. It gets a bit dusty, but nobody seems to mind. Life at the school is just about getting through the lessons every day and making sure the children are actually learning something. It’s quiet after three o'clock when everyone goes home. Then we just tidy up and get ready for the next morning. It’s not a big city school, just a local place for local families.
