Suganya Beauty Parlour

Suganya Beauty Parlour is based at 3/4 Govinda Swamy Layout in Coimbatore. We are in the Ayyappa Nagar area, specifically on Chetty Street. The shop is just a single room that opens right onto the street. I have been doing this work for nearly fifteen years. I started it after my children were old enough to go to school. It is a very simple place with just one main chair and a smaller stool for threading. I don't have a lot of help, so I do most of the work myself. This means I can only see one or two people at a time. My customers seem to like that because it is very private. I do haircuts and basic skin care like facials and bleaching. Coimbatore has grown a lot and there are many big salons now, but my regulars still come to me. The street is quite narrow and can get dusty, so I have to wipe down the mirrors and shelves a few times a day. I have a small cupboard where I keep all my towels and products. I don't use anything too expensive or fancy. I just use the brands that I have trusted for years. I usually open the shop around 10:30 in the morning and work until 7 in the evening. It’s a quiet and steady life. I enjoy the conversations I have with the women from the layout. We talk about our families and everything else while I work.
