Ss Parlour

Ss Parlour is located at No 15 in the Peelamedu area of Coimbatore, specifically in V K Nagar. This is a neighborhood where most people know each other, and our shop is just a small part of that community. I start the day by opening the shutters and setting out the towels. The shop isn't very big, so we have to keep things very tight and organized. We have our tools laid out on the counter, like the different sized clippers and the jars of gel. Coimbatore weather can be nice, but it gets humid, so we usually have the door open to let some air in. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood, like children playing or people heading to work in V K Nagar. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a few old posters and a calendar. It’s a place where people come when they need a quick trim or a shave without making a big deal out of it. We see a lot of the same people every month, and we've gotten to know their routines. Sometimes we just sit and talk while we work. The work is steady, and there is always something to clean or fix around the shop. When evening comes, we pack up our tools and lock up the place. It’s a modest way to spend the day, working right here in Peelamedu and seeing the familiar faces.
