Shri Banashankari Traders

Our business, Shri Banashankari Traders, is located right on Trichy Road. If you know the Angalamman Kovil, we are sitting just opposite to it, very close to the Raaja Complex. It’s a busy part of the street, so there’s always a lot of noise and activity outside our door. We’ve been trading here for quite a while, mostly dealing in various goods that local shops and businesses need. The shop itself isn't very big, but we manage to pack a lot of stuff into the space we have. Boxes are often stacked right up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of our mornings unloading deliveries and getting things organized for the day ahead. It’s just a few of us running the whole show. We don't use any fancy computer systems; we mostly keep track of things in our old ledgers and by memory. People from around the complex often drop in for a quick word or to check on current prices. It’s a very face-to-face kind of operation. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, with new stores coming and going. We’ve stayed put because we like the rhythm of this particular street. It gets very hot in the afternoons, but we keep the front doors open to catch whatever breeze comes by. We don't have a big corporate story to tell anyone. We just show up, open the shutters, and get to work.
