Ritz Unisex Salon

Our shop is tucked away at number 24 in Krishnaswamy Nagar, which is in the Ramanathapuram area of Coimbatore. We are situated right behind Gem Hospital, so it’s a fairly easy landmark for anyone coming from out of town. It’s a unisex salon, meaning we see a bit of everything throughout the day. The space isn't huge, but we make the most of it with the way the chairs are lined up. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving from one person to the next. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three or four people walk in at the same time without calling ahead. We just tell them to have a seat and wait their turn. The mirrors have seen a lot of faces over the years. We keep the place clean, or at least we try to, but hair has a way of getting into every corner. It’s just a basic, honest shop. No one here is trying to be a celebrity stylist. We’re just local people working a job. We talk about the weather, the local news, or whatever is on the radio while we work. By the time we lock up at night, our backs usually ache a bit, but that's just part of the deal when you run a salon like this. It’s simple, practical, and it keeps us busy. We don't have any fancy posters or big screens, just the tools we need to get the hair cut and the beards trimmed.
