Steelmen Machinery Pvt. Ltd. is located over at S. F. No. 103/2 on Palakkad Main Road, right in the Navakkarai Post area. The road is a major one, so there are always big trucks and buses roaring past our gates. Our workshop is a large space with a high metal roof that echoes whenever someone drops a wrench. We deal with various types of machinery, mostly fixing things or putting parts together for customers who come from all over the district. There is usually a layer of fine metal dust on the workbenches, and the smell of grease is everywhere. We don't have a fancy reception area; if you come by, you’ll probably find us out on the shop floor with grease on our hands. The light comes in through the big open doors at the front. We’ve had some of these machines for years, and they still work better than the new ones sometimes. It’s a lot of manual labor and standing on your feet for hours. Sometimes we have to wait weeks for a specific part to arrive, which can be frustrating for everyone. But that’s just how the machinery business goes. We have a small yard out back where we keep old scrap and extra frames. It’s a straightforward life, focused on fixing stuff and making sure the gears keep turning for our clients who need their equipment.
