If you head down Trichy Road to Sowripalayam Perivu, you’ll find us at No 1942. Mohan Das Hardware has been a part of this neighborhood for quite some time. It’s the kind of place that smells like metal and old sawdust. We have rows of bins filled with screws, bolts, and all the small things people need for their houses or projects. It’s often a bit dusty in here, but that’s just the nature of a hardware store that’s been around. We don’t have fancy displays or bright flashing lights. Most of our time is spent helping someone find the right size of pipe or a specific tool they can’t find anywhere else. Sometimes we have to dig through the back for a while to find exactly what a customer is looking for. The traffic on Trichy Road can be very loud, but we’ve grown used to the sound of it over the years. We know many of the local builders and DIY folks who stop by on their way to work. It’s just a small team of us here. We don’t try to act like a big chain store or a fancy showroom. We just want to have what people need when they’re in the middle of a repair. Every now and then, we might get an order slightly wrong, but we always do what we can to fix it.
