Lil & Raks Pallikkoodam

We are over on Avanashi Road in Coimbatore, right in the central part of the city. Lil & Raks Pallikkoodam has been here for a while now. Most days start pretty early because of the traffic on this main road. You probably know the spot near No 774 if you drive past often. It gets a bit noisy outside, but inside we just focus on what the children are doing. There’s usually some drawings on the walls and lunch boxes getting opened around noon. We aren't a big flashy place. It is just a school where local kids come to spend their day. Some of us have been working here for years and we’ve seen plenty of families come through. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows more. Coimbatore gets warm, so we try to keep things moving. We deal with the usual stuff like scraped knees or lost pencils. It's just a regular place for learning. Parents drop their kids off, we say hello, and the day begins. We don't worry much about being stiff or formal here. It feels more like a house sometimes. If you’re looking for us, look for the sign near the main road. We are just doing our part here in the middle of town. There's always something to clean up or a book to put back on the shelf. That's just how it is at No 774. We stay busy until the afternoon bell rings.
