Star Special School

Located at No 15 on Aerodrome Road in Singanallur, Coimbatore, our school is a bit different from the others. We are a special school, meaning we work with children who have various needs that can’t always be met in a regular classroom. It’s a busy area of Coimbatore, but once you step inside our gates, things are a bit more focused. We have a small group of staff who are patient and used to the daily challenges that come with this kind of work. The building is simple and has been modified a bit to make it easier for the students to move around. We don't have any grand mission statements or polished advertisements. We just show up every day and do our best to help the children learn basic life skills. Sometimes we spend a lot of time just on one small task. We have a room for activities and a small kitchen area where we handle meals. The noise from Aerodrome Road is always there, but we get used to it. Parents bring their children to us because they need a place that understands their specific situation. It’s not an easy job, but it is honest work. We don’t make any big promises, we just provide a space for these kids to be themselves and learn at their own pace. It’s a very practical, grounded kind of place.
