Iswarya Beauty Parlour

Our parlour is located at Number 2, Neethaji Street in the Pappanaickenpudur area of Coimbatore. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, though it gets busier when people are coming home from work. I started this place because I wanted to work for myself. It’s a small space, but I have decorated it with things I like. We do things like eyebrows, facials, and simple hair cuts. Most of the ladies from the nearby houses come here. They usually call first or just drop in if they are passing by. The room is usually filled with the smell of different creams and powders. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but nobody seems to mind. I spend a lot of time on my feet, but it’s okay because I like talking to the neighbors. We discuss everything from grocery prices to local weddings. I try to keep the place tidy, but when it’s busy, there might be some hair on the floor for a bit until I can sweep it. It’s just me and maybe one helper on the weekends. We don't have any big corporate rules here. If someone is short a few rupees, they just pay me next time. That’s how things work in Pappanaickenpudur. It’s a humble business and we just take it one day at a time.
