We are located up on the first floor of the Vel Complex in Saravanampatti. It is right on Sathy Main Road, pretty much across from the police checkpost at Kalapatti Pirivu. Being on the first floor means you have to walk up the stairs, which some people complain about, but it’s not too bad once you’re inside. The shop is a unisex place, so we get everyone coming in. Coimbatore weather can get pretty sticky, so the hair gets frizzy and we have to deal with that a lot. We have a simple setup here. Nothing over the top. Just the chairs, the sinks, and the usual tools of the trade. We start the day by setting everything out and making sure the scissors are sharp. There is always a lot of dust from the main road that tries to get in, so we are constantly dusting the shelves. It’s a straightforward business. We don't spend much time on fancy talk. We just listen to what people want and try our best to do it. The afternoon lull is when we usually get a chance to sit down for a minute and have some tea. Then the evening rush starts when people get off work and stop by before heading home. It's just a regular cycle that we go through every day of the week. We keep the mirrors clean and the floor swept as much as we can between each person who comes through the door.
