Bks Textiles is based out here at No.2/316 in the Kungumapalayam Pirivu area, just near the Palladam Post. If you know this part of the country, you know it’s mostly about textiles and spinning mills. We spend most of our days surrounded by fabric and yarn. It isn't a quiet place. There is always the hum of machines in the background and trucks coming in to load up or drop off materials. The roads around here get pretty dusty when the wind picks up, which happens a lot. Most of us who work here have been doing this for years. We show up early, get the machines running, and keep an eye on the production lines. It’s hard work and your hands usually end up covered in lint by the end of the shift. We aren’t a big corporate office with fancy glass walls; it’s more of a practical workspace where things actually get made. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generators to kick in, which is just how it goes in this part of town. We handle a lot of different fabrics and try to get the orders out on time, even when things get hectic. It’s just a group of local people working together to keep the business moving. There’s always someone drinking tea near the gate or checking the stock in the warehouse. We just focus on getting the work done. Every day is the same routine really, but we don't mind it much.
